The solar power system
A solar power system generates electricity using sunlight.
It is to all intents an electrical system that uses the sun's energy to produce electricity by means of the photovoltaic effect.
When struck by sunlight, the silicon in the photovoltaic cells generates energy.
The system comprises:
• a photovoltaic field that "gathers" energy from photovoltaic panels pointed towards the sun. The panels consist of photovoltaic modules comprising individual photovoltaic cells connected to electrical contacts;
• a power stabiliser that transforms the solar energy into an electrical current to be supplied to the network;
• a control panel, installed between the stabiliser and the network;
• the cables providing the connection between the photovoltaic panels and the network.
The solar power system is not subject to any serious forms of wear and does not need any particular maintenance.
It uses the inexhaustible power of the sun, and guarantees the emission of absolutely no pollutant substances into the atmosphere.
