Who we are
AREA FRANCERAM is a leading European concern and one of France’s largest ceramic tile producers to design and manufacture ceramic wall and floor tiles. In addition, it is the only French company that still makes wall tiles and hi-tech products suitable for construction projects. The company is currently opening important markets in the Middle East and Africa to create a sales network that will earn the Area Franceram Group an international standing.
The Group also recently acquired “Gres d’Artois”, the renowned Ceramic French brand dating back to 1920, which it relaunched at Cersaie 2010 to characterize a new line of sturdy, hi-tech products ideal for large surface areas.
Area Franceram has its own distribution network across Europe, Africa and the Middle East, and a stable presence in Tripoli (Libya) and in South Africa in Johannesburg’s Soweto district.
The production capacity of the Area Franceram Group amounts to a total of 12 million square metres between roofing, wall and floor tiles.
The purchase of 2 French plants has increased the Group’s turnover for ceramic tiles alone from 12 to 40 million euros, enabling it to successfully face the challenges presented by market globalization.
The Area Franceram Group employs approximately 380 people at its 3 production sites:
- France: Chateauroux in France’s Centre region
- France: Forbach in Lorraine, on the border with Germany
- Italy: Anagni, near Rome
